Drake may be one of the most successful artists in the world, but his recent sports betting record is anything but chart-topping. According to leaked receipts and an Instagram story, the Canadian rapper has lost a staggering $8.2 million on sports wagers over the past month alone.
Drake, known for his flashy bets and partnership with the betting platform Stake, reportedly placed over $124 million in wagers during a four-week span. The result? A net loss of $8,235,686, as revealed in a screenshot he shared on his Instagram Story.
“Gotta share the other side of gambling… losses are so fried right now,” he wrote. “I hope I can post a big win for you all soon cause I’m the only one that has never seen a max—these guys max once a week.”
Despite the brutal losses, Drake didn’t appear to be slowing down. He bet $800,000 on the Oklahoma City Thunder to close out the NBA Finals in Game 6—$600K on a straight-up win and another $200K on them winning by a margin of 6–10 points… as we know now, we can add these $800,000 to the losses.
Fans have even coined the term “Drake Curse” to describe the uncanny trend of teams and athletes underperforming after receiving his public support.
