A frustrating second-round exit that ended Boston Celtics’ hopes of going back-to-back as champions. Now comes an offseason where tough roster questions are waiting to be answered.
Kristaps Porzingis, on an expiring contract, and the aging Jrue Holiday have been the main pieces floated in trade rumors as Boston looks to clear cap space and upgrade their lineup. But they might not be the only ones in play anymore.
ESPN’s Shams Charania added another wrinkle this week, reporting that Boston would be open to offers for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. The team isn’t actively shopping them, but they won’t hang up the phone if a major offer comes their way.
“Are teams making big offers and calling about Jaylen Brown and Derrick White? One hundred percent. The Celtics prefer not to trade them, from my understanding, but listen, if they get a big offer, they have to look at everything. And I think they’re going to get, you know, offers on the three guys that they’re focused on. They’re going to get offers potentially on Derrick White and Jaylen Brown. And I think between now and the draft and free agency, they’re going to evaluate what makes sense from a value perspective.”
The Celtics are willing to listen to trade offers for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, per @ShamsCharania
