Former NBA player Tyler Hansbrough recently shared a fascinating story about Lou Williams’ off-court life.
During an appearance on the “Green Light” podcast with Chris Long, Hansbrough revealed that Williams, a three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year, had a unique personal arrangement—he used to bring both of his girlfriends to every Toronto Raptors game. The two women would even sit side by side at each game, a dynamic that amazed Hansbrough and the rest of the team.
“They sat next to each other. They were at every game,” Hansbrough recalled. The situation was no secret among the players, and Hansbrough humorously added, “I’m not sure he could do anything basketball-wise to ever really top that.”

Williams’ unusual dating arrangement even gained recognition in pop culture, with rapper Drake referencing it in his hit track “6 Man,” featuring the line,
“Two girls and they get along like I’m Lou Will.”
This lyric became emblematic of Williams’ larger-than-life persona both on and off the court.
Beyond his personal life, Lou Williams’ basketball career was also pretty remarkable. Known as “Sweet Lou,” Williams carved out a niche as one of the most prolific scorers off the bench in NBA history. Over his 17-year career, he played for several teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, and Toronto Raptors. His ability to provide instant offense made him a valuable asset to every team he joined.
Williams is a three-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year award winner and holds the record for the most points scored off the bench in NBA history. One of his career highlights came in 2018 when he scored a career-high 50 points in a game against the Golden State Warriors.
