LeBron James has once again etched his name into the annals of basketball history, becoming the first player in NBA history to surpass 50,000 career points. The milestone, which includes both regular-season and playoff points, was achieved during the Los Angeles Lakers’ dominant victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.

James entered the game needing just one point to reach the unprecedented mark. He achieved it with a three-pointer in the first quarter.

The crowd erupted in applause as James celebrated the historic moment with his teammates, including his new running mate, Luka Dončić.

Reflecting on the achievement, the 40-year-old superstar expressed his gratitude and pride.

“It’s a hell of a lot of points,” James said postgame. “I’m super blessed to be able to put that many points up in the best league in the world and with the best players in the world throughout my career. So it’s pretty special.”

Already the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in both the regular season and playoffs, James continues to defy expectations in his 22nd season. His longevity and consistency have been key to his success, as he remains a dominant force on the court, averaging 24.8 points, 8.6 assists, and 8.0 rebounds this season.

The Lakers, who have been in top form since acquiring Dončić in a blockbuster trade, extended their winning streak to seven games with the victory. James and Dončić combined for 64 points and 21 assists, showcasing their growing chemistry and the team’s potential for a deep playoff run.

In the wake of LeBron’s newest historic night, NBA Twitter went to work. Here are some of the best reactions.
