The Denver Nuggets might be sitting at number two in the Western Conference, but their championship run last season has many fans and basketball pundits still pegging them as the team to beat in the West this season.
However, other teams aren’t content to watch. They are stepping up their game and gunning to spoil the Nuggets’ repeat. Bearing this in mind, Nuggets shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has his eye on these teams.
When asked about the biggest threats to the Nuggets this season, Caldwell-Pope named the star-studded Phoenix Suns, top seed Minnesota Timberwolves, and the young Oklahoma City Thunder.
“I would say a healthy Phoenix, a healthy Minnesota,” he said. “… And there’s a lot of young teams. OKC is on the rise, too, man.”
