The Utah Jazz jumped out to a hot start early in the 2022-23 regular season, but found the stretch unsustainable as the team finished the season 37-45 and 12th in the Western Conference. That being said, whatever direction the team is going in next year, they should be in for a treat this upcoming offseason.

The Jazz are rich in draft picks, young players and cap space. One year removed from the Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell trade, there shouldn’t be much of a surprise if the Jazz could once again shake the trade market up in the near future.

Accordingly, rumors of a potential trade surrounding the Jazz are starting to circle around. One report from The Athletic’s John Hollinger now stated that the Jazz are keeping an eye on Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic.

Per The Athletic:

“Let’s start with the fact that a couple of other teams — most notably Oklahoma City and Utah — have the resources to outbid the Nets on any player of their choosing,” Hollinger wrote. “With my spies telling me that Utah in particular is keeping a very interested eye on Dončić’s situation.”

Jazz and NBA beat writer Andy Larsen also doubled down on the rumor, suggesting that the Jazz are keenly interested in Doncic and are considering trading some of their trade draft to acquire a star in the trade market.

Per Salt Lake Tribune:

“I’ve heard similar things, for what it’s worth. I don’t have spies, but I do have sources within the Jazz organization, who say that the Jazz are keenly interested in Doncic. That being said, it’s also fair to say that the Jazz are “keeping a very interested eye” on many stars around the league — they want to use at least some of those draft picks acquired in the Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert trades on acquiring a star in the trade market,” Larsen said.
