The Chicago Bulls Are Exploring The Idea Of Bringing Back Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose has done a lot of good for the New York Knicks this past season. He averaged 14.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game on 48.7% shooting from the field and helped the Knicks clinch a playoff spot for the first time since the 2012-13 NBA season.

Rose will enter the upcoming NBA free agency as an unrestricted free agent. Following a stellar year, there’s no reason to believe that there wouldn’t be a big market for the 32-year old veteran point guard, especially when a number of teams are in search for a reliable point guard and veteran presence.

With that in mind, one team that could be in the market for Rose are the Chicago Bulls. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski previously kicked-started the rumors, naming Rose as one player to watch for Chicago. Now, Bulls insider K.C. Johnson has fueled the Bulls-Rose reunion and revealed that the team has had ‘internal conversations’ regarding their former MVP.

Per NBC Sports:

“Such uncertainty is why secondary targets such as Derrick Rose can’t be ruled out. In fact, internal conversations on the viability and fit of the former Bull and former most valuable player have occurred, just as they have with all candidates.”
