Steve Kerr Admits He Didn’t Think Warriors Could Win The NBA Championship

The Golden State Warriors were all about business this year after missing the playoffs in the past two years. After finishing the season with a 53-29 season, the Warriors steamrolled their way through the NBA Finals where they beat the Boston Celtics in six games.

Although the Dubs put up a dominant performance throughout the whole playoffs, plenty of fans and basketball pundits alike didn’t think the team would win another NBA championship especially after losing Kevin Durant in the summer of 2019.

For the record, the Warriors entered the NBA Finals as massive underdogs and were given by ESPN’s Basketball Power Index just a 14% chance to win the NBA title over the Celtics.

Apparently, even Warriors head coach Steve Kerr wasn’t so confident about the team’s possibility to win the NBA championship when their training camp began.

“When we started camp, I thought we could be pretty good but I didn’t know we could win the whole thing. To be sitting here, enjoying the parade today, and feeling the love of the Bay Area, it is pretty incredible.”
