Sacramento Kings Were Forced To Limit Davion Mitchell’s Gym Time, Cause He Wouldn’t Stop Training

In this year’s NBA Draft, the Sacramento Kings drafted Davion Mitchell with their No. 9 pick.

Mitchell helped the Kings win the Summer League Championship, while being named NBA Summer League MVP along with Cameron Thomas and was selected to the Summer League First Team.

But his impressive first offseason doesn’t stop there. Mitchell has been on some Mamba Mentality grind and basically hasn’t left the gym ever since joining the Kings. In fact, the rookie has been training so much that the team has now started to limit his workout time.

That’s what Tyrese Haliburton revealed earlier this week:

“I think he works so hard that it’s no surprise why he is where he is and has had the success he has had in his basketball career. So, that’s refreshing for me to see a guy working like that. It makes me work harder and I hope everybody sees that and it works that way for everybody.”

Mitchell though is confident that he needs the extra gym time to prepare for the 82-game season.

“They be telling me to go home but I feel like I just have to work on so many things. They be telling me to get out of the gym, go get some rest. It’s 82 games, I’ve never played this long of a season before so they are kinda helping me out a little bit but there are so many things I want to work on. But, yeah, they be running me out of here.”
