NBA Twitter Lost It Over Kyrie Irving Saying Durant Is The First Teammate He Trusts In The Clutch
Kyrie Irving had the privilege of playing with some incredible talent over the course of his NBA career.
By teaming up with LeBron James in Cleveland, and now with Kevin Durant in Brooklyn, he even got to play with two of the greatest players of all time.
But even though Irving has played with LeBron James, Kevin Love, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, among others, he somehow just admitted that he has never felt comfortable giving up the ball in clutch situations, until now with Kevin Durant, even though they haven’t even played a game together, yet.
“One thing I’ve always felt comfortable with, I felt like I was the best option on every team I’ve played for, down the stretch. This is the first time in my career where I can be like ‘that motherf**ker can make that shot too.”

Kyrie taking a shot at LeBron James is nothing new, as their relationship has been, let’s say strained, for a long time.
Nonetheless, NBA Twitter obviously didn’t agree with the star point guard and roasted Irving for his statement.
Kyrie absolutely thinks he beat the Warriors by himself

LeBron James is three wins away from winning his fourth NBA Championship, and now Kyrie Irving is saying Kevin Durant is the only player in his career he can trust down the stretch of a game? pic.twitter.com/JEZLv7hPJu

And on another note the Celtics are better without Kyrie and Lebron is doing better without Kyrie.

The funniest part? LeBron scored the 7 straight points to bring the Cavs back and tie the game. But those don't count cause Kyrie hit the last shot (ignoring Bron's FT to ice).
But when we talk Bron's game-winners, they don't count if the game is tied. Endless hypocrisy… https://t.co/C4NJcKv59Q

Bron on the verge on winning his 4th title…this doesn’t surprise me!!! #StriveForGreatness https://t.co/YqMjN7hOsN

4Q's of the 3-1 Comeback…
LeBron: 11.0 ppg – 3.3 rpg – 2.0 apg on 58 ts%
Kyrie: 6.0 ppg – 1.7 rpg – 0.7 apg on 50.3 ts%Sorry, but who had to close for who?

Friendly reminder that Kyrie Irving has a 154-191 record without LeBron.
He is an overrated ballhog that doesnt affect winning any bit.
Cleveland reached the finals without him. Won 1 less game.
Boston reached ECF without him 3 times, didnt with him.
Nets won more with DLO. pic.twitter.com/DygC29mtPU

LeBron led Kyrie in:
– Buzzer-beaters
– Game-winners
– 4th quarter scoring
– Clutch scoring
For both the entire playoff runs, and for specifically the Finals appearances. But somehow the narrative is that Kyrie had to consistently close for LeBron…

Meanwhile Lebron is back in the finals for the second time in three years since Kyrie left, and Kyrie has won just one playoff series. https://t.co/wl6BkqvNwg

Was Kyrie on the court when LeBron did this to Kawhi in the NBA finals?
oh wait…. he was watching at home waiting to see where his team was gonna draft in the Lottery
Does LeBron get buckets as cute as Kyrie? No, but he gets them & wins in the processpic.twitter.com/YFYLTVIXim https://t.co/bya3pP4HZa
