NBA Summer 2020 Free Agency Will Likely Be Very Boring

This summer’s NBA free-agency has likely been the craziest in NBA history.

Numerous All-Star players have changed sides and the NBA landscape has drastically changed within a couple of weeks.

Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, DeMarcus Cousins, D’Angelo Russell, Jimmy Butler, Kemba Walker, Mike Conley and Al Horford will all wear new uniforms when the 2019/20 NBA season tips off.

But as crazy as this year’s off-season has been, as boring will it likely be next summer.

With Draymond Green signing a 4-year, $100 million contract extension with the Warriors, not many elite free agents will be left next summer. The best unrestricted free agents next year will be

Kyle Lowry, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul Millsap, Hassan Whiteside, Montrezl Harrell, Serge Ibaka, Danilo Gallinari, Marc Gasol, Fred VanVleet, Eric Gordon and Goran Dragic.

with

Pascal Siakam, Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Buddy Hield, Domantas Sabonis and Caris LeVert being restricted free agents.

If Anthony Davis, Gordon Hayward, DeMar DeRozan, Andre Drummond, or Mike Conley won’t opt out of their contracts, the 2020 free agency will be a sad one. And even if one or the other decides to opt out, it will still be rather boring.
