NBA GM: LeBron James Wants Thunder GM Sam Presti To Replace Rob Pelinka

The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t quite lived up to their billing so far this season and have recently slipped to the 9th spot in the Western Conference with a 27-32 record.  As their struggle continues, the noises from within the franchise get louder and louder.

Not too long ago, LeBron James, who is under contract with the Lakers through the 2022-23 NBA season, expressed that he wanted to finish his career with the team. While that gives Lakers fans a bit of reassurance, it looks like their high-profile superstar may have another back-up plan in mind, if he doesn’t get his will.

And that right now, seems wanting to get rid of General Manager Rob Pelinka. According to Fox Sports’ Ric Bucher, LeBron James, who praised OKC GM Sam Presti and the job he is doing during the All-Star weekend, might be trying to ploy Presti away from the Thunder to the Lakers as one unnamed Eastern Conference GM told him.

Per Fox Sports:

“I heard that he was trying to get Sam Presti in there to replace Rob,” the second Eastern Conference GM said. “I don’t see that happening, but I could see him trying to get Pelinka out of there.”

Knowing Presti though, it might be counterproductive, as his first couple of moves may be trading LeBron James and Anthony Davis for a couple of first round picks…
