LeBron James Says He Could Try To Lead The League In Assists Again If The Situation Presents It 

While he’s always been the primary ball-handler, LeBron James was officially listed as a point guard for the first time in his NBA career last season. In this regard, LeBron didn’t disappoint and fulfilled the role sensationally, leading the league in assists per game and assists total with 10.2 and 684, respectively.

Although LeBron has the versatility and the skills to play the point regularly, the Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t afford to shoulder the entirety of the playmaking load to LeBron who is also the second scoring option on the team behind Anthony Davis.

However, if the situation puts LeBron in the same position as last year and warrants him to lead the league in assists for the second straight year, the 35-year old superstar says he could try and get the job done.

LeBron on role for this year: “If it presents for me to be the primary ballhandler and also try to lead the league in assists, I can (take that) responsibility … if our team doesn’t need that, that’s absolutely fine as well.”
