LeBron James On Russell Westbrook’s Poor Shooting Night: “Everybody In This League Has Had Bad Shooting Nights”

Russell Westbrook has found himself under immense criticism since coming to the Los Angeles Lakers last season. He was one of the team’s scapegoats last season, and it seems like he may end up as one again this season.

Westbrook averaged 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 7.1 assists per game on 44.4% shooting for the Lakers last season. Despite his all-around numbers, many fans find his fit and style of play detrimental to the Lakers’ team success.

On Thursday, Westbrook gave the haters more motivation to criticize him after he had 2 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists on 0-for-11 shooting from the field against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Amid the criticism towards Westbrook, Lakers superstar LeBron James offered his support to the 33-year old and seemingly downplayed his teammate’s bad shooting night, suggesting that bad nights happen to every player.

“Flush it down the toilet and get ready for Sunday… Everybody in this league has had bad shooting nights. Who cares.”
