Lamar Odom Reveals Story Of Meeting Kobe Bryant & Playing Him 1-On-1 When He Was In High School

Former 6th man of the year, Lamar Odom was a key player in the Los Angeles Lakers’ back-to-back championship runs in 2009, and 2010.

During his seven-year long stint with the Lakers, Odom also became friends with Kobe Bryant. The two had a close relationship, and following Kobe’s tragic death, Odom shared many stories about him.

Now, during an appearance on VladTV, Odom was asked about his transition to the NBA, because he was considering to transition directly from high school. Back then, high school Lamar Odom was able to talk to Kobe about it, and while Kobe gave him advice, they also went on to play each other one-on-one.

“I had hung out with him through the Adidas connect because Kobe Bryant was Adidas too. And I was able to hang out with him, and we were able to talk a lot. We were with an agent, his name was Arn Tellem, and we actually played one on one. That was a real competitive game, I wish that they had that game on tape… But I just learned, Kobe was always giving me advice even before I was able to join him with the Lakers. He was an extra intelligent dude.”
