Kristaps Porzingis Is Reportedly Jealous Of Luka Doncic

The Dallas Mavericks closed their 2020-21 NBA regular season with a record of 42-30, earning the fifth seed in the Western Conference. Unfortunately for the Mavericks, the team fell victim to an early playoff exit with a Game 7 loss against the Los Angeles Clippers.

In the aftermath of their playoff loss, the relationship between their two young players in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis has been put into the spotlight. Earlier reports indicated that Porzingis feels frustrated playing next to Doncic, and that two players reportedly do not like each other.

Now, to shed another light on the relationship between Doncic and Porzingis, popular NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith appeared on ESPN’s ‘First Take’ and claimed that his sources close to the Mavericks are hearing that the 25-year old Mavericks big man is jealous of Luka Doncic.

“Some people have accused [Kristaps Porzingis] of being jealous [of Luka Doncic]… That’s what’s going on. Porzingis probably needs to go. They probably need to utilize him to get a bonafide secondary option because he seems to be somebody that’s jealous of Luka Doncic.”

“Mark Cuban and those guys may deny it. They can do that all they want to. I’m not saying they’re wrong, I’m just saying this is the noise that’s circulating out of Dallas.”
