Kobe Bryant’s Insane 2010 WCF Performance Led Channing Frye To Smoke His First Cigarette Ever

Channing Frye revealed that he will retire after this season.

Frye played his final game in Phoenix, where he played four years with the Suns, as well as college and high school ball (at least in Arizona) and took some time to reflect upon his NBA career.

The NBA Champion joined The Athletic for an interview and had some great stories. One story he shared is how he was being haunted by Kobe Bryant’s performance during the 2010 Western Conference Finals so much, that he actually started smoking a cigarette. Something he hadn’t done once in life prior to that night.

“All my friends were there and just a great experience. First time I ever smoked a cigarette. Kobe crushed us so bad that I actually smoked a cigarette with the people outside.

“Never did it again but I felt it was necessary. We were in Phoenix. Some dirty dive bar and I was outside and just venting how Kobe is absolutely amazing. He single-handedly beat us.”
