Klay Thompson Thinks It’s Cool That LeBron James Is A Laker
Klay Thompson Likes That LeBron James Is A Laker
Mychal Thompson, father of Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson and former “Showtime” Los Angeles Lakers role player has a strong opinion on which team would win: his son’s history-making Warriors team or the “Showtime” Lakers.
Los Angeles, who dominated the 1980’s–winning five NBA championships from 1980-1989–were one of the flashiest and most exciting teams to ever grace the court. Thompson played five seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers and eight seasons with teams in the Western Conference.
So you can say that Klay most likely was a Lakers fans, or at least had a close eye on them, while growing up. This may be the reason why he thinks it’s cool that LeBron joined the Lakers. Either this, or him getting tired of always playing the Cavs in the NBA Finals. Per ESPN.
“I think it’s pretty cool,” Thompson said of seeing James in a Lakers jersey. “I don’t think you would have guessed it when he was with the Cavs when he started his rookie season, but it’s adding a ton of interest in the league, and the Lakers are about to get the usual media coverage that I was used to growing up.”
