Jason Hehir Reveals Hilarious Reason Why Michael Jordan Was The Only One Getting Sick From The Infamous Utah Pizza

June 11, 1997 – NBA Finals – Chicago Bulls vs Utah Jazz – Game 5.

The Bulls had won the first two Final games, but the Jazz were able to come back, winning Games 3 and 4. So the series was tied before we got to see Michael Joran’s most memoarble game – The Flu Game.

In the night before the game, at 2 a.m, Michael Jordan called his personal trainer to his hotel room. He was laying on his bed, heavily sweating, and didn’t even have to strenght to sit up straigh. He was diagnosed with a stomach virus or food poisoning, caused by a pizza he ate the night before.

One question remained though: Why did no one else on the team get sick from the pizza? In ESPN’s ‘Jalen & Jacoby Aftershow’ that aired after the final episodes of ‘The Last Dance’ last night, ‘The Last Dance’ director, Jason Hehir revealed why Jordan was the only one getting sick. The explanation is too funny:

“Earlier that night, those guys all ate dinner and didn’t wait for Michael when they ordered. So it gets to be about 10 or 11 o’clock and Michael is starving and says ‘I want a pizza’. And we’re talking about Salt Lake City… they’re actually way on the outskirts of Salt Lake, and that’s another layer to this story is that they weren’t staying in downtown where things would be regularly available. There was no room service in the hotel so they call out. When the pizza shows up, Michael says ‘everybody, do not touch this pizza! This is mine! You didn’t wait for me, don’t touch this.’ So he spits on the pizza…”
