James Harden Would Not Be Winning A Title With Stephen Curry If Warriors Traded For Him Per Bill Simmons

James Harden has found his name being thrown in a handful of trade rumors and scenarios amidst this year’s offseason. Several teams have shown interest, one of which being the Golden State Warriors who will be without their shooting guard Klay Thompson in the upcoming 2020-21 NBA season.

Although there are no reports that the Warriors are aggressively pursuing ‘The Beard’, basketball junkies couldn’t help but to speculate whether the Warriors hypothetically trading for Harden is an ideal scenario for the 31-year old Rockets shooting guard.

Prominent basketball analyst Bill Simmons has put his opinion on this matter, and he believes that Harden would not be winning a championship in Golden State with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, consequently stating that Harden himself will veto that hypothetical scenario if it comes to pass.

Per NBC Sports:

“Here’s the problem if you’re Harden — you’re not winning the title if they do that, because Klay Thompson is out for the year,” Simmons said. “So you’re going to play with Steph Curry and Draymond Green and you’re not gonna win the title. You’re in the same spot you are now.

“So he’ll veto that … with no Klay Thompson, he’s not talking himself into that.”
