Jabari Parker’s Help Defense Is Ridiculously Awful

Jabari Parker’s career has been overshadowed by his injuries so far.

While Andrew Wiggins may have ended up being awarded Rookie of the Year 2015, it may not have been the case had one Jabari Parker not torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament after 25 games. Parker was the clear standout of the rookie year before his injury, and looked set to cruise to ROY before he went down.

Then, after recovering, the young Milwaukee Bucks star looked to be fully recovered from his injury, and was averaging 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game. Parker had been the spark plug for a Bucks team looking to make the playoffs.

Unfortunately it wasn’t too long until the next shock hit! Parker tore his left ACL.

Then, this summer, Parker signed with the Chicago Bulls. And while his offensive talents have diminished due to all the injuries, his laziness on defense remained the same. Bulls fans couldn’t believe what they’ve heard during Parker’s introductionary press conference. When asked about how he planned to improve his defense, Parker replied,

“They don’t pay players to play defense.”

Judging from what we’ve seen so far in this season, it looks like Parker’s mindset hasn’t changed. His help defense is beyond ridiulous (as are his defensive ratings), and Bulls fans are already disliking this past summer’s addition to the team.
