In what was a frustrating night for the Memphis Grizzlies, Dillon Brooks picked up a flagrant 2 foul and was ejected from the game after hitting LeBron James in the groin area with 11:43 left in the third quarter.

Brooks left the game with 7 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal. In 19 minutes of play, he also shot 3/13 from the field and 1/5 from the three-point line. The Grizzlies tried to make a rally late without their pesky forward, but came up short by a final score of 111-101.

After the game, Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant shared his thoughts on the incident and was asked whether he fears Brooks will be suspended next game. Morant doesn’t think Brooks deserved an ejection in the first place, but expressed that he wouldn’t be surprised if his teammate faces further punishment.

“With how they treat Dillon, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he is,” Ja said. “I felt like he was ejected because of past ejections made in games before. If you look at the play, he was actually reaching for the ball on a crossover. LeBron just went behind the back.”

“Obviously, he got hit somewhere that’s tough for a man. But flagrant 1? OK, but ejection, I don’t agree with it at all,” Morant added.
