Former Atlanta Hawks Player Anthony Grundy Dies In Stabbing

 

Former NBA player and North Carolina State star, Anthony Grundy has died in a stabbing.

Grundy was found injured Thursday night and later died at the University of Louisville Hospital. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the cause of death was ‘multiple sharp force injuries to the body’.

After a great college career, Grundy was named 1st Team All-ACC during his senior season, while becoming the 1st player in school history to lead his team in 5 major statistical categories (Scoring, Assists, Rebounds, Steals, 3-pointers made), he went undrafted in the 2002 NBA Draft.

He nonetheless became a pro and played in Europe before joining the Atlanta Hawks for the 2005-06 season, in which he played 12 games for the Hawks. In the 2007-08 season Grundy was the Greek League’s top scorer, averaging 21.5 points per game.
