Dennis Schröder Now Certain To Stay With The Los Angeles Lakers After Declining Initial 84$ Million Offer

Dennis Schröder thrived and made waves in the regular season that triggered the Los Angeles Lakers to offer him a four-year, 84$ million deal. Extension talks quickly fell apart as Schröder planned to test free agency where he could possibly receive a bigger deal from the Lakers than the original offer.

Schröder finished his season with the Lakers, averaging 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game on 43.7% shooting from the field. In the playoffs, Schroder never had any luck in bringing his A game as the Lakers combo guard only averaged 14.3 points, 2.8 assists and 1.7 turnovers on 40% shooting while dropping a stinker in Game 5.

Schröder may not be worth the initial 84$ million contract after an underwhelming first round performance. Nonetheless, he indicated that he’s willing to come back and give all he got for the ‘Purple & Gold’.

Dennis Schroder: “I’m going to work my ass off to come back here and give everything because we owe the fans more. I’m going to work my ass off this summer, come back and be me … I want to be here and win a championship.”
