Big 3 In LA? Proposed Trade Sends Paul George To The Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are poised to make some changes following their disappointing loss to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA playoffs. It’s clear that some players might soon be on their way out, with Rui Hachimura and D’Angelo Russell being the frontrunners.

In light of this, Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George has been proposed as a potential addition for the Lakers to fill these gaps.

Coming off the playoffs, George averaged just 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game on 41.1% shooting from the field. This summer, he can become an unrestricted free agent and could seek a lucrative deal elsewhere, or he might push for a sign-and-trade deal from the Clippers to the Lakers.

Such a trade scenario might involve sending George and veteran forward PJ Tucker to the Lakers in exchange for some of their core players.

Per Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report:

“Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G/F Paul George, PF P.J. Tucker

Los Angeles Clippers Receive: G Austin Reaves, F Rui Hachimura, G D’Angelo Russell, F Jarred Vanderbilt, 2024 or 2025 first-round pick

The combination of LeBron James (who would be more likely to re-sign with the Lakers himself), Anthony Davis and George would become one of the best Big Threes in all of basketball, improving L.A.’s outside shooting and overall defense in the process.”
