Ben Simmons Throws Shade At Rudy Gobert After Dropping A Career-High In Points: “A Bit Disrespectful Putting Him On Me”

Kind of a distasteful defensive night when a player, not known for his scoring, drops 40-piece on your head, especially when you’re the two-time Defensive Player of the Year. That’s exactly what Rudy Gobert ran into on Monday night.

Gobert and the Utah Jazz ended up bagging the 134-123 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, but it didn’t come easy as expected, as the Joel Embiid-less Sixers managed to put up an impressive fight behind Simmons’ monster night of 42 points (career-high), 9 rebounds and 12 assists on 57.7% shooting.

After the game, Simmons, who has never been shy of speaking his mind, was effusive in acknowledging Gobert’s defensive presence and admitted that he felt disrespected on occasions where Gobert was guarding him.

“I loved when I saw Rudy was guarding me. I love being able to go at somebody like that. I felt like it was a little bit of disrespect putting him on me, but it is what it is.”
