Ben Simmons Didn’t Respond And Even Left Nets Group Chat After Being Asked If He Was Going To Play In Game 4

Ben Simmons was the main subject of criticism in Philadelphia, after his huge letdown during the NBA playoffs in 2021. He hasn’t played a game with the Sixers afterwards and was traded to the Brooklyn Nets, where he hasn’t made his debut yet, due to concerns about his mental health and back injuries.

The 25-year old point guard was rumored to make his season-debut on Game 4 of the Eastern Conference first-round series between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics, but it didn’t happen as he was eventually ruled out due to back soreness.

NBA insider Ric Bucher now revealed an interesting story about Simmons, Durant and the Nets locker room. According to Bucher, Nets players asked Simmons if he was willing to play in Game 4 on the team’s group chat. Simmons however, not only didn’t respond, but also entirely left the group chat.

This led to Nets superstar Kevin Durant becoming very frustrated while wondering with what kind of man he is playing with.

“They’re having a team chat before Game 4, thinking he’s going to play against the Celtics. From what I’m told, Ben just left the chat. They asked him “Are you going to play?”. Ben left the chat. Like he didn’t even answer the question, just left the chat.

KD’s like “This is what I signed up for? This is who I’m playing with?”
