It is some sort of a consensus opinion that the 1984, 1996 and 2003 NBA draft classes are the top three draft classes in NBA history. However, when it comes to the question of which one among these three holds the top spot, fans and pundits tend to have mixed opinions.

The debate surrounding these three draft classes continues to be a popular topic every now and then, and Iverson, who formerly headlined the 1996 NBA draft, 27 years ago today.

Speaking to Shannon Sharpe on ‘Club Shay Shay’ some time ago, the former No.1 overall pick didn’t hesitate on picking his draft class as the best NBA draft class of all-time, consequently naming a couple more players, aside from the popular ones, that contributed to that status.

“First of all, Shannon, you already said the best draft class because when you named us, look how many players you named. And, you forgot some. You forgot Lorenzen Wright, did you say Kerry Kittles? Did you say Marcus Camby? Did you say John Wallace?”
