Aaron Gordon Plans To Become The Best Player In The NBA

Magic forward Aaron Gordon was poised to have a breakout year in each of the last two NBA seasons. While he certainly improved, it wasn’t a breakout performance in either year, until maybe after Serge Ibaka was traded to the Toronto Raptors earlier this year.

With the move to the power forward position, Gordon played far better, visually and statistically. This coming season, Gordon will be able to play power forward for all 82 games, doing what he does best cutting, rolling, dunking and rebounding. This will give him every opportunity to take yet another step forward, and maybe have his breakout year (finally), while becoming the Magic’s next franchise player.

But according to Gordon himself, his goal isn’t to become the Magic’s franchise player, but much bigger. He wants to be the NBA’s best player in the future.

That’s what he told John Denton of Magic.com, in a recent interview:

“My game is going to continue to get better and there’s still no ceiling for me. I’m looking to be the best in the NBA at some point in my career, so I’m going to continue to improve and continue to help my team get wins.”
