DeMar DeRozan didn’t mince words, or stick around long, after his team’s 127–120 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night. In a tense postgame interview, DeRozan voiced his frustration over what he saw as a lopsided officiating performance, then abruptly walked out.
“22 free throws for him? Free throws… free throws,” DeRozan said, referring to Lakers guard Austin Reaves, before leaving the podium.

Reaves, who exploded for a career-high 51 points, went to the line 22 times, more than the entire Kings starting lineup combined. The Lakers finished with a 46–18 free-throw advantage, a margin that left DeRozan and Kings fans fuming.
While Reaves’ performance was undeniably electric, the disparity in foul calls raised questions about officiating consistency, especially given the physical nature of the game.
The loss drops Sacramento to 1–2 on the season, with a tough road trip ahead.
