In a sport often dominated by comparisons and debates, NBA legend Dwyane Wade has added fuel to the fire, with a powerful endorsement of WNBA superstar A’ja Wilson. During a recent interview, Wade confidently stated that Wilson could beat “a few” NBA players in a one-on-one matchup.

Speaking on The Underground Lounge, Wade didn’t hesitate when asked about the skill level of WNBA players compared to their NBA counterparts.

“She’s smart. One thing about basketball players, they’re not smart. We have a lot of basketball players who just know how to do one or two things. Because you may just be athletic, and they just say go be an athlete. That’s not your fault. They are not coaching you sometimes. So you don’t know the game outside of pick and roll. Getting into one-on-ones like A’ja Wilson, who knows how to play basketball with crazy footwork, you don’t know the game,”

Wilson has been a force in the WNBA since being drafted No. 1 overall in 2018. She’s a three-time MVP, a three-time defensive Player of the Year, and a two-time WNBA champion. Her game combines finesse, power, and elite basketball IQ, traits that translate well to any level of competition.

Her footwork in the post, mid-range touch, and defensive instincts have drawn comparisons to NBA greats. Wade’s praise only adds to her growing legacy.
