State Of New York To Strip Madison Square Garden Of Liquor License Over Feud With James Dolan

In October of 2022, Madison Square Garden Entertainment banned a lawyer and revoked his Knicks season tickets he had since the 1970s, because he represents clients who are suing Madison Square Garden.
In fact all 60 of his firm’s lawyers got terminally banned from every game, concert and other event at its venues.
This then led to an attorney getting kicked out of a Knicks game. In January, Alexis Majano revealed that he was flagged by facial recognition technology at the Garden, as soon as he was headed into the game against the Celtics with his friends, he was stopped on an escalator.
This incident then led to Dolan Dolan threatening to stop Alcohol sales at MSG, over a feud with the State Liquor Authority, that relates back to his facial recognition usage. But Dolan’s threats likely backfired, as now the State Liquor Authority themselves has initiated proceedings that could strip Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and the Beacon Theater of their liquor licenses.
Per The New York Post:
“The agency slapped the James Dolan-owned properties with administrative charges over his banning attorneys from the venues who are in active litigation against him or the Garden, The Post has learned.
If successful, the SLA could prevent fans from enjoying a brew at Rangers and Knicks games, concert cocktails, or nog at the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.
The four violations — which have not been previously reported — were received via certified mail on Feb. 21. The SLA has demanded a formal plea from Dolan’s properties by March 15.
Instead, Dolan, 67, went scorched earth, filing a petition Saturday in Manhattan Supreme Court asking a judge to stop the SLA violations, calling the enforcement “an abuse of power.”
