9-Year Old Girl Helped Stephen Curry Create Special Edition Of The Curry 6s

Last November, a 9-year old girl named Riley Morrison wrote a letter to Golden State Warriors superstar, Stephen Curry, asking why his signature Under Armour sneakers weren’t available for girls.

Under Armour only listed the shoes in boys’ sizes. Curry then replied to Riley saying that he and UA were working on a solution for the problem.

Steph and Under Armour then recently released the newest signature shoe, the Curry 6, and also produced a special edition called ‘United We Win’ with drawings and messages from Riley Morrison. This special edition was released  yesterday on International Women’s Day and the proceeds will be used for charity.

“Proceeds from the shoe will fund a scholarship from the Curry Family Foundation + Under Armour that will go to a young woman from the Oakland area pursuing an education in a STEM-related field.”
