San Antonio Spurs Storm Back From 25 Down To Stun Los Angeles Clippers

The San Antonio Spurs produced one of their most resilient wins of the season on Friday night, erasing a 25-point deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 116-112 at home. The victory improved San Antonio to 46-17 and snapped the Clippers’ three-game winning streak.

For long stretches, the game appeared to belong to Los Angeles. The Clippers controlled the action early and built a commanding lead, putting San Antonio in a hole that looked far too deep to escape. Instead, the Spurs steadily changed the tone of the game after halftime, tightening up defensively, finding better rhythm offensively.

Victor Wembanyama led the comeback with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks, once again serving as the central force on both ends of the floor. De’Aaron Fox played a major role in steering the rally, while Julian Champagnie added 20 points, including five made three-pointers, in a valuable supporting performance. Rookie Carter Bryant also helped swing momentum during the decisive stretch.

The Clippers still had strong individual performances, most notably from Kawhi Leonard, who finished with 30 points and nine rebounds. But after building a substantial cushion, Los Angeles could not hold off San Antonio’s late surge. The Spurs eventually seized control in the closing minutes and completed a comeback that stood out even in a season already full of statement wins.

More than anything, the result underscored San Antonio’s growing maturity. Teams that expect to matter in the postseason do not always win beautifully, but they do respond when a night threatens to unravel. Down 25, the Spurs could have folded. Instead, they kept coming, and by the end of the night, they had turned what looked like a blowout loss into one of their most impressive victories of the year.
