Chiney Ogwumike, ESPN analyst and former WNBA All-Star, stole the show by dressing up as her colleague Kendrick Perkins during a festive episode of NBA Today. The costume included Perkins’ signature style and booming on-air personality, and it had fellow analysts in stitches.
Ogwumike’s costume was a masterclass in mimicry. She donned a bald cap, a faux beard, and a tailored suit to replicate Perkins’ unmistakable look. But it wasn’t just the outfit. Ogwumike fully committed to the role, adopting Perkins’ deep voice, catchphrases, and even his trademark intensity during the show’s segments.
The ESPN crew, including Malika Andrews and Richard Jefferson, joined in the Halloween fun with their own costumes, but Ogwumike’s impersonation of Perkins quickly became the highlight. The real Kendrick Perkins, seated beside her, couldn’t stop laughing and gave his stamp of approval, joking,
“She might take my job!”
