Miami-based radio host Brendan Tobin didn’t hold back this week after explosive FBI revelations suggested the NBA had prior knowledge of Terry Rozier’s gambling activity well before his trade to the Miami Heat.
On his show Tobin & Leroy, Tobin launched into a fiery tirade aimed directly at NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Charlotte Hornets GM Mitch Kupchak.
“ADAM SILVER — You HACK, you FRAUD. Don’t tell me about INTEGRITY of the game! Take your new policy & kiss my ass! YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID! & MITCH KUPCHAK, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID! YOU RUBBED OUR NOSE IN IT!”
The outburst came in response to reports that the league was aware of Rozier’s involvement in illegal wagering activities more than a year before the Heat acquired him in a midseason trade. The FBI’s investigation, which led to Rozier’s arrest last week, has rocked the NBA and raised serious questions about transparency and accountability.
According to federal documents, Rozier was part of a broader gambling ring that included other NBA personnel. The league has since placed Rozier on indefinite leave, along with Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, pending further investigation.
Commissioner Silver, in his first public comments, said he was “deeply disturbed” by the allegations and emphasized the league’s commitment to integrity. But Tobin wasn’t buying it.
Tobin’s frustration stems from the belief that the Heat were blindsided by the trade, unaware of Rozier’s legal troubles while the Hornets and league office allegedly knew. His rant suggested that Kupchak and Silver allowed the trade to go through without disclosing critical information, putting Miami in a compromised position.
