The decision comes amid recent developments, including news that Jaden Ivey underwent a surgical procedure to alleviate discomfort in his right knee. While the recovery is not expected to be lengthy, the timing has reportedly added a layer of caution to negotiations.
For Duren, the hesitation appears to stem from concerns about long-term durability and the financial implications of committing to a big man early. Despite flashes of brilliance, the Pistons are reportedly wary of offering a high-value deal before seeing more consistent production.
