Dennis Rodman Claims Kim Jong Un Wants To Visit America

Dennis Rodman has once again stirred headlines. This time by claiming that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un wants to visit the United States.

The revelation came during a recent livestream with popular Twitch personality Neon, where Rodman casually dropped the news in his signature laid-back style.

“Oh my god, I’m always asked about that. What the hell, man? The guy’s cool to me, right?” Rodman said. “But you know what? I’ve always said to everybody in the world, I said, guess what, if that guy came over here to America, he really wants to come over here, man. I said great”.

Rodman’s relationship with Kim Jong Un dates back to 2013, when he first visited North Korea as part of a basketball exhibition. What began as a surreal publicity stunt quickly evolved into a personal bond. Kim, a self-professed Chicago Bulls fan, reportedly admired Michael Jordan and extended an invitation to Rodman after Jordan declined. Since then, Rodman has made multiple trips to North Korea, visiting Kim’s palace, private island, ski resort, and even riding in his helicopters.

“He’s cool to me,”

Rodman reiterated, describing a world few outsiders have ever seen. In one of his earliest visits, Kim threw Rodman a stadium-sized party with 140,000 people in attendance, personally leading the applause for his guest.

Rodman’s latest claim adds a new layer to their unusual friendship, especially given the decades of geopolitical tension between North Korea and the United States. While Kim Jong Un has previously stepped onto the international stage, most notably during his 2018 summits with then-President Donald Trump in Singapore and Vietnam, an actual visit to the U.S. would be unprecedented.

With Trump now back in office, Rodman’s comment feels both wild and oddly plausible in today’s unpredictable political climate. Still, given North Korea’s isolationist policies and strained diplomatic relations, the idea of Kim Jong Un strolling through Times Square remains highly unlikely.

Rodman’s friendship with Kim has long been a source of controversy. Critics have dismissed it as a publicity stunt, while others argue that Rodman has served as an informal bridge between two nations with virtually served as an informal bridge between two nations with virtually no direct communication no direct communication.
