Chicago Bulls Trade Lonzo Ball To Cleveland Cavaliers For Isaac Okoro

In a move that signals shifting priorities for both franchises, the Chicago Bulls are trading point guard Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for wing defender Isaac Okoro, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Ball, 27, has endured a challenging stretch in his career, missing significant time due to a lingering knee injury that sidelined him for over two seasons. Though he returned to limited action in 2024–25, questions remain about his long-term durability. Still, the Cavaliers are betting on his upside, particularly his elite court vision, perimeter defense, and ability to space the floor.

Cleveland has been exploring ways to balance its backcourt, especially with Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell both commanding heavy usage. Ball’s unselfish playstyle and defensive versatility could be the missing piece to stabilize the rotation and elevate the team’s ceiling.

In return, the Bulls acquire 23-year-old Isaac Okoro, a former fifth overall pick known for his on-ball defense and physicality. While his offensive game remains a work in progress, Okoro has shown flashes as a slasher and corner three-point shooter.
