Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro has made headlines for reasons beyond basketball, after a viral clip surfaced of him expressing skepticism about historical events before 1950.

During a live stream with Adin Ross and Neon, Herro shocked viewers by questioning the validity of history, stating,

“I don’t believe in anything that happened before 1950.”

The conversation took an unexpected turn when a fan asked Herro about Wilt Chamberlain, wondering if the NBA legend would rank among the top five players in today’s league. Instead of discussing Chamberlain’s impact, Herro responded by questioning whether historical records could be trusted at all.

“I don’t believe in history, I’m dead as,”* he said, leaving Ross and Neon visibly stunned.

Herro elaborated on his stance, using Christopher Columbus’ arrival in 1492 as an example. He argued that since no one alive today witnessed those events firsthand, there’s no way to confirm their accuracy.

“We can never be certain if that is true,” he claimed, further fueling the controversy.

Herro’s comments quickly went viral, sparking a wave of reactions across Twitter (X), Instagram, and TikTok. Some fans ridiculed his logic, pointing out that his stance would mean denying the existence of both World Wars, the Great Depression, and even his own grandparents. Others turned the moment into memes, photoshopping Herro into historical events with captions like “Fake news.”
