The Oklahoma City Thunder are now just one win away from the NBA Finals, thanks to an unreal performance from their superstar, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In a thrilling Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, SGA delivered a 40-point, 10-assist, 9-rebound masterpiece, guiding OKC to a 128-126 victory and a commanding 3-1 series lead.
From the opening tip, Gilgeous-Alexander was locked in. He attacked the rim, knocked down clutch jumpers, and orchestrated the Thunder’s offense. Despite facing relentless defensive pressure, he found ways to score, including nine points in the final five minutes to seal the win.
SGA’s ability to create offense out of chaos was on full display. One of the game’s defining moments came when he lost his footing on a drive, nearly doing the splits, yet somehow managed to skip the ball between Jaden McDaniels’ legs to Jalen Williams, who drained a crucial three-pointer.
While Gilgeous-Alexander was the star, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren played pivotal roles in OKC’s victory. Williams erupted for 34 points, hitting six three-pointers, while Holmgren added 21 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks. Their contributions ensured that the Thunder had answers for every Minnesota run.
Minnesota fought hard, but their star duo of Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle struggled against OKC’s suffocating defense. Edwards finished with 16 points on 5-of-13 shooting, while Randle managed just five points on 1-of-7 shooting. Despite strong performances from Nickeil Alexander-Walker (23 points) and Donte DiVincenzo (21 points), the Wolves couldn’t overcome their stars’ off night.
With the win, OKC heads back home for Game 5, where they have a chance to close out the series and punch their ticket to the NBA Finals. The Timberwolves, however, won’t go down without a fight. Expect Edwards and Randle to come out aggressive as Minnesota looks to extend the series.
