We’ve reached the conference finals, which means most teams are already in offseason mode, working the phones, scouting prospects, and preparing for another round of roster reshuffling. And as always, with the draft creeping closer, trade speculation is starting to bubble.
Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball, of course, knows this world well. He’s lived through them and been at the center of them. This time, though, the spotlight isn’t on him. It’s on his younger brother, LaMelo Ball.
LaMelo has long been the focal point of the Hornets’ rebuild. But as another draft approaches, and with Charlotte in position to select yet another potential star, Lonzo senses the Hornets might be ready to pivot. He sees a scenario where the Hornets ship LaMelo to the Los Angeles Clippers and reset around prospect Dylan Harper.
“I lowkey got Dylan Harper going to the Hornets and I got Melo going to the Clips,” Lonzo said.
Lonzo Ball says he envisions the Hornets drafting Dylan Harper and LaMelo Ball getting traded to the Clippers 👀
