Paul Pierce has never been one to back down from a challenge. Whether it was leading the Boston Celtics to an NBA championship or making bold predictions on live television, The Truth has always stood by his word. His latest commitment: walking 20 miles to the FS1 studio after the Celtics lost Game 2 to the New York Knicks.
Before Game 2, Pierce made a confident declaration on FS1’s Speak:
“If the Celtics lose Game 2 at home, I promise you, I’m walking here tomorrow. I’m walking here. I’m walking here 15 miles. I’m walking here in my robe, no shoes on, barefoot.”
It was a statement made with conviction, but as fate would have it, the Celtics suffered a heartbreaking 91-90 loss, blowing yet another 20-point lead.
True to his word, Pierce embarked on his journey early the next morning, documenting his trek on Instagram Live. Dressed in his robe, he set off on foot, determined to fulfill his promise.
As Pierce walked through the streets of Los Angeles, he kept fans updated on his progress.
“This is crazy, dog. I can’t believe this. C’s got me out here like this,” he said, drenched in sweat just a few miles into his journey.
His former teammate, Kevin Garnett, even spotted him on the side of the road, adding to the spectacle.
After hours of walking, Pierce finally arrived at the FS1 studio. But instead of triumphantly striding onto the set, he was wheeled in—recreating his infamous 2008 NBA Finals wheelchair moment. The scene was met with laughter and applause, cementing his status as one of the most entertaining personalities in basketball media.
