Shaquille O’Neal Thinks It’s Time To Put Stephen Curry In The GOAT Conversation

Stephen Curry has found his groove again, and having Jimmy Butler around has made things easier. Less defensive attention, fewer possessions where he has to do everything himself, it’s exactly what he needed to get back to playing like the Stephen Curry we’ve known for years.

In fact, Curry is averaging 29.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game on 50% shooting and 43% from deep in 10 games with Butler this season. And just a few days ago, he casually torched the Orlando Magic for 56 points on 64% shooting.

A couple of months ago, the conversation around Curry wasn’t exactly sunshine and rainbows despite an All-Star appearance. The Warriors were losing, he was struggling to score 20 points, and people were wondering if Curry had lost a step for good. Now, the script has flipped, and even Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal is taking notice.

Shaq has always been in Curry’s corner, but this time, he’s raising the stakes. Impressed once again, he’s now saying that the four-time Warriors champion deserves a spot in the GOAT conversation.

“I’ve played against Mike, played with/against Kobe/LeBron, but at some point you gotta put Steph in that category.”
