Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid faced an unexpected scare during pre-game warm-ups on Christmas Day, but his determination to play on the holiday led him to push through the pain and lead his team to victory.

During his warm-up routine, Embiid stepped on a security rope, causing him to twist his ankle. The fall was alarming, and for a moment, it seemed like the star center might be sidelined for the highly anticipated game against the Boston Celtics.

Despite the injury scare, Embiid quickly recovered and continued his warm-up routine. When asked about the incident, Embiid said,

“I stepped on a security guard and just twisted it. Just a little sore, but it’s Christmas. Gotta play on Christmas.”

Embiid’s determination paid off as he played a crucial role in the 76ers’ 118-114 victory over the Celtics. He recorded 27 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, showcasing his ability to perform at a high level despite the injury. Tyrese Maxey also contributed significantly with 33 points, 12 assists, and three steals.
