Stephen Curry Never Wants To Leave The Warriors: “I Want This To Be My One And Only Home”

Loyalty is a dying art in the world of sports. Players like Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Dirk Nowitzki were the last breed of NBA stars to never “jump ship” and leave when their team is not performing up to par.

The ability to remain apart of a losing team is something only the best can do; not particularly skill wise, but mentally. Players often move around the league for two reasons; to contend for a championship or for the green paper that the world revolves around.

But loyalty goes both ways, and in today’s NBA even trying to be loyal to a team seems impossible. We’ve seen it when Isaiah Thomas, Blake Griffin and DeMar DeRozan got traded.

Stephen Curry however is set to become the next superstar to remain with one franchise. The reigning Finals MVP recently was a guest commentator on the Oakland Athletics’ broadcast and revealed how proud he is to be able to say he is a one-team man.

Curry said that the Bay Area not only is very special to him, but that it has also become his home.

“I just finished my 13th year. To be able to say I’ve played for one team my entire career – I can also say how special this place is. Honestly, I don’t want to leave ever. I want this to be my one and only home. Even thinking about what happens when basketball is done, we’ll still have roots here, we’ll still have a presence here, and we’ll call this home.”
