People Were Camping Infront of Stores For Air Jordan 11 Space Jam Edition Sneakers
Honoring the 20th anniversary of the movie, the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11 recently made its return for the first time since 2009, this weekend. The sneakers look very similar — featuring touches that set it apart from previous iterations of the shoe, the 2016 edition is a nod to the original player edition worn by Jordan in the 1995 NBA Playoffs — to the original Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam” version, with one amazing difference, true Jordan fans know about.
Instead of Jordan’s iconic number 23 on the back heel, this version has the ‘No. 45’, an homage to the only other number Jordan has worn in his career, minus that one time he wore no. 12 (Jordan’s No. 23 jersey is believed to have been stolen on the day of the game. The Bulls did not bring a backup No. 23 jersey with them, but the team did have a just-in-case No. 12 kit bearing no name on the back).
As it is with all the new Jordan sneakers, stock is very limited and it is rather hard to end up getting one, without paying 100’s of dollars online. People all over the world were waiting in line in front of stores for the release. Check out this interview with a sneakerhead from Detroit, who was camping for over 18 hours in the freezing cold, to be first in line at Elite Mr. Alan’s:
