About two weeks ago, rookie phenom Zion Williamson signed a five year, $75 million sneaker deal with Jordan brand.

According to various reports, Zion Williamson had bigger offers than the Jordan deal, but sacrificed money for his dream of wearing the logo of his idol.

Details of one of these potential bigger deals have now surfaced. In a very interesting article about the the Zion Williamson ‘Sneaker Chase’, ESPN’s Nick dePaula revealed that Puma was offering Williamson up to $18 million per year.

Per ESPN:

“But the company knew that a strong social media presence and flashy on-court sneakers wouldn’t be enough to land Williamson. So when they met with the future No. 1 pick earlier this spring, they offered him an impressive financial commitment: a deal that soared as high as $15 million per year, plus the potential to add an additional $3 million a year in bonuses, according to industry sources.”
