The Miami Heat Could Form A New Big Three With The Addition Of Trae Young

The Miami Heat’s hopes for a deep playoff run this season were thwarted by Jimmy Butler’s injury. Without their star player, the Heat just managed just one win against the Boston Celtics before bowing out completely in the first round.

While Butler’s future with the team remains a topic of discussion, the core group should be good enough to return to the playoffs next season. However, some fans and basketball pundits believe championship aspirations require another star alongside Butler and Bam Adebayo. Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has emerged as a potential target.

Despite being one of the most overlooked stars this season, Trae’s talent remains undeniable. Averaging 25.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 10.8 assists per game, he quietly put together an elite season. Renowned NBA analyst Bill Simmons now sees the 25-year-old point guard as an ideal addition for Miami.

Per The Bill Simmons Podcast:

“If you’re Miami, you keep Butler. You have Bam, Trae, and Heat Culture—just the kind of guy who is a warrior. It would just seem like the kind of trade I’d be like, oh man, and then the more I look at him, I’m like, oh [expletive], that might actually have been a good trade for them. I don’t know why, but I like him in Miami for some reason.”
