Stephen Curry On Draymond Green’s Game 1 Ejection: “It’s Not Good For The Game”

During Game 1 of the second-round playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies, former league DPOY Draymond Green was ejected from the game after an unsportsmanlike foul on Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke.

The situation occurred with 1:18 remaining in the second quarter. As Clarke leaped into the air to attempt an easy 2-point basket, Green tried to disrupt Clarke by dragging his jersey and pulling him down to the ground. The 32-year old Warriors big man was then given a flagrant-2 foul and was ejected from the game.

Although the Warriors picked up the win even without their defensive big man for the rest of the game. Many observers were not happy with what happened with Green including Dubs superstar Stephen Curry.

Appearing in a post-game interview, Curry addressed Green’s situation and said that his foul attempt didn’t deserve an ejection.

Per USA Today:

“It’s a tough call, obviously, on the road, start of a series and you get a guy like Draymond headed to the locker room … nobody wants to see that. It’s not good for the game,” Curry said. “I didn’t think it deserved (an ejection), obviously.”
